Best Shopify apps to increase sales: where are you losing the sale?
Data as of November 2026. Every price and rating comes from the app's own Shopify App Store listing, read November 2, 2026, except Sledge's Ultimate plan, which is on the Sledge pricing page, and the limits noted from each app's own pricing or help page. Ratings move every day.

Find your leak
Where is your Shopify store losing the most sales?
Open Shopify's Conversion rate breakdown report and find the biggest fall between two steps, which your conversion rate alone can't show. Our Shopify CRO guide walks that report step by step.
| The leak | The Shopify report to check | App |
|---|---|---|
| Shoppers can't find the product | Top online store searches with no results | Sledge |
| A new visitor doesn't trust the page | Sessions with cart additions, in the Conversion rate breakdown | Loox |
| Shoppers leave a full cart | Sessions that reached checkout, in the same report | Omnisend |
| Buyers never come back | New vs returning customers | Smile.io |
Read periods that start after September 23, 2026, because Shopify changed how it measures sessions that week. The first step falls furthest at most stores, so judge Sessions with cart additions against a benchmark: Littledata's median add-to-cart rate is 6.8%, among Shopify stores with at least 1,000 sessions and 90 purchases over 90 days. A new store sits outside that group.
A lift figure with no named test proves nothing, so this list prints none.
1 · Sledge
Shoppers can't find the product: Sledge
You stock the product, the shopper can't find it, and the sale is gone before a cart exists. Sledge is a Shopify search and filter app that also shows your offers on search results, collection pages and in the cart drawer.
Instant search shows products as shoppers type, and a full results page carries your filters. On a paid plan you choose how search matches words.
Merchandising lets you pin, boost, push down or hide products, so you choose what shoppers see first. Sledge also runs nine offer types, and a cart drawer with a progress goal and trust badges.
Pro costs $29.99 a month, Scale $89.99, Accelerate $199 and Ultimate $399, all listed on Sledge pricing. Start the 14-day free trial and run search, filters, the cart drawer and one offer of each type on your own products. The trial leaves out AI search, AI synonyms, personalization, Back in Stock and Growth Intelligence reports.
Sledge has no free plan for a live store. It has no email or SMS marketing, live chat, popups or loyalty program, and no replays or heatmaps. Back in Stock starts on Accelerate. The App Store lists Sledge as "Sledge Product Filter & Search", so look for that name.
Best for: stores where shoppers search and filter before they buy.
2 · Loox
A new visitor doesn't trust the page: Loox
A first-time visitor reaches a product page with no photo from a real buyer and has only your word for it. Loox asks buyers for photo reviews by email and shows them on the page.
Its free Beginner plan sends the requests and reminders, and lets you offer a discount for a photo review. Beginner stops at 500 orders in total, counted from the end of your Loox trial, and then it closes.
Convert, at $49.99 a month, includes 300 orders and adds video reviews and referrals, after a 14-day free trial. Each extra 300 orders costs $50, so the bill grows with your store. Unlimited costs $299.99 a month.
Want a flat price? Eight review apps, sorted by free plan, has options. Sledge can show Loox stars on its own search and collection cards, so the two work side by side.
Best for: products that sell on how they look.
3 · Tidio
A question goes unanswered: Tidio
A shopper wants to know if the gift ships in time, finds nobody to ask, and closes the tab. Tidio puts live chat on your store, and its Lyro AI agent answers from your store's information when you're away.
The free plan covers 50 live chat conversations a month, plus ticketing and a mobile app. Lyro answers common and order status questions in the shopper's language, with 50 free Lyro conversations in total, not per month.
Chat, automation and AI are three separate paid plans, each with a 7-day free trial. Customer Service costs $29 a month for 100 conversations, Flows $29 for automated chats with up to 40,000 visitors, and Lyro AI Chatbot $39 for 200 Lyro conversations.
Read what Lyro answers before you let it run alone, and check that the chat bubble doesn't cover your mobile Add to cart button. To test chat first, Shopify Inbox is free and connects to your catalog, stock and policies. The best Shopify live chat apps compares Inbox, Tidio and six others on what each bills for.
Best for: stores with more questions than time to answer.
4 · OptiMonk
Visitors leave and you can't reach them: OptiMonk
A first-time visitor looks at three products and leaves, and you never learn who they were. OptiMonk builds popups from a chat with an AI agent, so you can trade a reason to come back for an email address.
The free plan gives you 10,000 pageviews a month on one domain, with all features and unlimited campaigns. Essential costs $29 a month for 20,000 pageviews, Growth $99 for 100,000 and Premium $249 for 500,000, and yearly billing costs less.
At the pageview limit your campaigns pause until you upgrade or the monthly counter resets. OptiMonk emails a warning at 80%.
Run one popup, well timed, because a stack of them costs trust. Omnisend's free plan has popups and forms too, so if you take Omnisend you may not need this one yet. For a plain sign-up form, Shopify Forms is free. Our list of free Shopify apps shows where it stops. For prize wheels, sale bars and age checks, compare Shopify popup apps by job.
Best for: stores with traffic and a small email list.
5 · Omnisend
Shoppers leave a full cart: Omnisend
A shopper fills a cart, gets pulled away, and nobody reminds them. Omnisend sends the abandoned cart email for you, on the free plan too.
Across 50 studies, Baymard Institute's average cart abandonment rate is 70.22%. In its own study of US shoppers, 40% of those who weren't just browsing left because extra costs ran too high, and a reminder alone won't fix that.
The free plan covers up to 250 contacts, with 500 emails a month, popups and forms. Standard costs $16 a month for up to 500 contacts and 6,000 emails. Pro costs $59 for up to 2,500 contacts, unlimited emails, and SMS from $0.007 a message.
Both prices rise with your list, and automated messages to non-subscribers count toward the bill. Omnisend may also bill you outside your Shopify invoice.
For a free first step, Shopify Messaging has a Recover abandoned cart template, with your first 10,000 emails each month free. Already on Klaviyo? Our best Shopify apps for a growing store list covers it as the email app.
Best for: stores that want cart recovery without a big email tool.
6 · AfterSell
The order stops at one item: AfterSell
The shopper has paid, and you offered nothing else. AfterSell shows a one-click offer right after payment, and a yes adds the product to the same order.
Post-Purchase costs $34.99 a month at 200 monthly orders, Pre-Purchase $59.99 at 200 and Complete $79.99 at 500, after a 30-day free trial. The free plan on its listing is for development and partner stores only.
Apple Pay, Google Pay and buy now, pay later orders skip the offer. Shop Pay needs one test order, because Shopify's help page lists it as excluded and AfterSell's docs list it as supported. Shopify's help page also excludes orders with subscription products, and orders with duties and multi-currency.
For Apple Pay, Google Pay and buy now, pay later orders, AfterSell's docs point to thank-you page offers, which work with every payment method. Five thank-you page upsell apps compares that route.
Each order sits On hold while the offer shows. Post-Purchase climbs with order volume to a $999.99 cap, and the middle tiers aren't published. Upsells inside checkout need Shopify Plus.
Best for: stores paid mostly by card, in one currency.
7 · Smile.io
Buyers never come back: Smile.io
Your first-time buyer has no reason to pick you over the next store. Smile.io gives them points, rewards and referrals, online and in store with Shopify POS.
The free plan covers up to 200 orders a month, with 15+ ways to earn and redeem. Essential costs $15 a month to 500 orders, Standard $79 to 1,000, and Growth $199 with 2,500 orders, then $20 for each extra 100. Each paid plan has a 14-day free trial.
The step from $15 to $79 comes at 500 orders a month, and VIP tiers wait for Growth. Smile.io counts paid, unpaid and refunded orders in each calendar month. To see where VIP tiers start in seven other apps, compare Shopify loyalty apps by job.
Points give a buyer a reason to return, but they won't fix a product nobody needs twice. Getting repeat customers begins with a good first order. With no email list yet, start with email.
Best for: products people buy more than once.
8 · Microsoft Clarity
You see the drop, not the reason: Microsoft Clarity
Your report shows the step where shoppers drop, and never what they did before they left. Microsoft Clarity records visits and draws heatmaps, free, so you can watch it happen.
This Shopify CRO tool is listed as "Free Forever", with no traffic limit. Recordings stay for 30 days, or up to 9 months if you favorite one or it lands in a random sample.
Replays and heatmaps show a leak but don't close it, and watching them takes time. Recordings can be slow to load, and the checkout abandonment view is Shopify Plus only.
Its listing now leads with Brand agents, an AI shopping assistant Microsoft calls beta, with no published price, so judge Clarity on replays and heatmaps. If you sell to the European Economic Area, the UK or Switzerland, recordings of those shoppers can stay limited until they accept cookies. Six heatmap and recording apps compares more options.
Best for: any store that wants to see a leak before paying to fix it.
The monthly bill
What would all eight apps cost you a month?
Seven entry paid plans plus free Microsoft Clarity add up to $203.97 a month. Start on every free plan and you pay $64.98, for Sledge and AfterSell.
Both totals are floors. They hold only while you stay under 200 orders a month, 100 chat conversations, 20,000 pageviews and 500 contacts, and the lower one also has to fit each free plan's limit.
- Orders move the bill: Loox, AfterSell and Smile.io.
- Conversations move it: Tidio.
- Pageviews move it: OptiMonk.
- Contacts move it: Omnisend.
- Nothing moves it: Microsoft Clarity, which lists no paid plan.
Each Sledge plan has a monthly limit on sales made through Sledge, labeled "Monthly Revenue Boost": up to $8,000 on Pro. Past that, AI search and new Growth Intelligence findings pause until the month resets. Search still returns results, and the storefront tools keep running. Sledge pricing lists the amount for each plan.
Keep or remove
When should you remove a sales app?
Remove a sales app when the step it was meant to move hasn't moved. Install one app at a time, so you can tell which app moved which step. The CRO guide shows how to measure a step.
Shopify's own advice is to review your apps and drop any that aren't "essential for sales", because too many can slow your storefront. The app check in a Shopify store audit has you write down each app's job and the report that shows what it earns.
Then check your theme. Shopify warns that some apps change your theme in ways that aren't automatically removed when you uninstall the app. Do too many apps slow your store? covers that cleanup.
Where to start
What should you fix first to increase sales?
Fix the biggest drop in your report first. If it sits in search, collections, offers or the cart, Growth Intelligence names your next fix on any paid plan.
It reads 90 days of your orders, plus the last 7 days of searches, carts and the filters shoppers leave after. Each finding is marked High or Medium, with a button that opens the fix and an Ignore button. You review and save, and nothing changes until you do.
The findings you haven't ignored add up to one total in your store's currency, labeled "Est. potential". That total estimates what those fixes could be worth.
Set up a fix from its finding, and Growth Intelligence compares the sales that came through Sledge over an equal period before and after. That's an estimate, not a controlled test, so a sale weekend can still move it. The result opens under the finding's Performance button.
Its fixes are Sledge's own. Growth Intelligence won't tell you to install Loox or Omnisend, and it can't fix live chat, popups or loyalty.
The trial runs no Growth Intelligence, but you still get Analytics: its Journey tab shows where visits end, and Signals lists what Sledge spots in plain words, refreshed twice a day.

What are the best free Shopify apps to increase sales?
Six of these eight start free, and five of those set a limit: Loox at 500 orders in total, Tidio at 50 conversations a month, OptiMonk at 10,000 pageviews a month, Omnisend at 250 contacts and Smile.io at 200 orders a month. Microsoft Clarity has no traffic limit. Sledge and AfterSell have no free plan on a live store.
Which Shopify app increases sales the most?
No published test answers that for your store, and a lift figure on an app list means little unless it names the test. The best conversion app is the one closing your biggest leak. Open Shopify's Conversion rate breakdown report, find the largest drop between two steps, and fix the page behind it before you buy anything else.
Can too many apps hurt your conversion rate?
They can. Shopify names too many apps as a cause of a slow storefront, and advises removing any that aren't essential for sales. A popup on top of a popup, or a chat bubble over your mobile Add to cart button, is a leak of its own. Add one app, then check your store on a phone.
Do post-purchase offers show on Shop Pay and Apple Pay orders?
Not on Apple Pay, Google Pay or buy now, pay later orders: Shopify and AfterSell agree those skip the offer. Shop Pay is less clear, because Shopify's help page lists it as excluded and AfterSell lists it as supported. Place a test order on your own checkout before you count on it.
Does Growth Intelligence run on Sledge's free trial?
No. Growth Intelligence turns on when you pick a paid plan: weekly on Pro, twice a week on Scale, and daily on Accelerate and Ultimate. The 14-day free trial covers search, filters, the cart drawer and one offer of each type, and Analytics still shows Signals. AI search starts on a paid plan, and Back in Stock on Accelerate.
Find the fix your store needs next
Try search, filters, offers and the cart drawer free for 14 days. On Pro at $29.99 a month, Growth Intelligence checks your orders, searches and carts each week, tells you what to fix next, and adds those fixes into one “Est. potential” total in your store's currency.
