7 best Gorgias alternatives for Shopify, and how to move your tickets
Data as of November 2026. Plans, prices and ratings come from each app's Shopify App Store listing or its own pricing and help pages, read November 5, 2026.
Summarize with AI
These seven Gorgias alternatives work with Shopify, and the right one depends on how your support runs. Shopify Inbox is free for chat on your store, and Commslayer has a free helpdesk plan. Commslayer, Re:amaze and Richpanel each connect to Gorgias and bring your tickets over. eDesk adds marketplace messages, and Help Scout and Zendesk charge per person, not per ticket.
You look up Gorgias on the Shopify App Store, and its page says the app is not currently available. Then a busy month closes, and every ticket past your plan has cost up to 40 cents more.
At a glance
Which of these Gorgias alternatives fits your store?
Find the line that sounds like your inbox.
- Most of your tickets are chats on your own store. Shopify Inbox, free.

- You also sell on Amazon or eBay. eDesk, with marketplace messages in the same inbox.
- A few of you answer, and you'd rather pay per person than per ticket. Help Scout, free for 5 people up to 100 contacts a month.
- Your support team is large and already trained on Zendesk. Zendesk, priced per agent and billed yearly.
Gorgias sits in the last row, for reference.

The App Store page
What happened to Gorgias on the Shopify App Store?
Gorgias's App Store page now reads “This app is not currently available on the Shopify App Store” and sends support questions to Gorgias directly. It shows no rating, price, install button or reason. Gorgias's own help center still sends you to the App Store to connect a new store. Gorgias's status page listed the Shopify connection as operational on November 5, 2026.
The bill you have now
What does Gorgias charge for, and why does a busy month cost more?
Gorgias counts tickets, not people. A ticket is any conversation that gets a reply from your team, a rule or Gorgias's AI Agent, however many messages it holds. A reply after a long quiet spell can open a new one, and Gorgias filters out spam and newsletters before it counts.
Starter costs $10 a month for 50 tickets and 3 seats. Basic is $60 for 300, Pro $360 for 2,000 and Advanced $900 for 5,000, each with room for 500 people. Past the plan, each ticket costs $0.40 on Starter and Basic and $0.36 on Pro and Advanced.
Gorgias's AI Agent bills on top, per “automated interaction”, its name for a conversation the agent resolves with no person stepping in. Each one costs $1 on monthly billing, or $0.90 on yearly, and $1.50 past the number your plan includes. Each one also counts as a ticket.
Say you're on Basic and a sale week brings 500 tickets. The first 300 are in the plan, and the other 200 cost $80, so the month comes to $140 instead of $60. Whether chat pays for itself is a separate sum, worked through in what conversational commerce costs and when it pays.
A busy month, priced
What does a 500-ticket month cost on each helpdesk?
The same month on each app's plan: 500 conversations, answered by three people, with no AI.
| App | Plan and the sum | The month | Billed |
|---|---|---|---|
| Gorgias | Basic, $60 for 300, plus $80 for 200 more at $0.40 each | $140 | Monthly |
| Shopify Inbox | No plan; it answers chats on your store only | $0 | Nothing to bill |
| Commslayer | Plus 700 covers all 500; Free includes 300 and has no pay-as-you-go | $39 | Monthly |
| Re:amaze | Starter covers all 500, for any number of people; Basic would be $87 | $59 | Monthly |
| Richpanel | PRO, three people at $89 each | $267 | Monthly |
| eDesk | Growth, 1,000 tickets: Starter includes 300 and lists no price past it | $199 | Monthly |
| Help Scout | Standard, three people at $25 | $75 | Yearly |
| Zendesk | Suite Team, three agents at $55 | $165 | Yearly |
Gorgias's and Help Scout's figures come from their own pricing pages, and the rest from each App Store listing. Count your own busiest month before you compare.
The switch
How do you move your tickets and macros out of Gorgias?
In any Gorgias ticket view, tick the tickets, click the three dots and choose “Export tickets”. Gorgias emails a link to a CSV file, a spreadsheet you open in Excel or Google Sheets. The link works for 14 days, and one export holds up to a million tickets.
That file lists each ticket's subject, tags, customer, agent and dates, but not the messages. For message text, open a report under Analytics, click a metric and choose “Export with message content”. That export covers the latest 30 days of the period you pick, up to 100,000 tickets, and public messages only. For older messages, ask Gorgias's support team for a custom export.
Macros leave as their own file. Open Settings, then Productivity, then Macros, and choose “Export Macros as CSV”. The file holds each macro's name, text and tags.
Three helpdesks have their own importer, which connects to your Gorgias account and pulls the history across for you.
- Commslayer. Tickets, contacts, tags, agents and saved replies. Commslayer says the move is free and its importer takes an hour to a day, depending on your history. Imported conversations arrive read-only, and automations don't come across.
- Re:amaze. Conversations, messages, staff, roles, departments and categories, from its Settings, then Migration Tools. Macros aren't on its list.
- Richpanel. Conversations, messages, tags, macros, team members and teams, from its Settings, then Helpdesk Importer. You set a cut-off date, the day new tickets start going to Richpanel.
Re:amaze and Richpanel each ask for details from the “REST API” page under Gorgias's Settings, the page where Gorgias gives other apps access to your account. Help Scout's partner Import2 also brings Gorgias tickets, customers and tags across, free up to 500,000 records when you start it inside a paid Help Scout plan. Macros stay behind.
Ask eDesk and Zendesk how your history moves before you switch. No importer here lists your rules, so rebuild them by hand. Switch your support email over before the full import starts.
1 · Shopify Inbox
Shopify Inbox: can a free app cover your support?
Most of your tickets are chats that start on your own store. Shopify Inbox handles them for free, and your team can reply from a phone.
When a signed-in customer writes, their profile shows their orders. The chat also shows each item they add to or remove from the cart, with the cart's subtotal.
Inbox works on Shopify's Basic plan and up. If a shopper leaves before you answer, your reply goes to their email, as long as they gave one or signed in. Inbox's AI agent can't send email for you. Nothing moves over from Gorgias, so Inbox starts with your next chat.
Best for: answering chats on your own store.
2 · Commslayer
Commslayer: can a helpdesk stay free at 300 conversations a month?
Your ticket bill climbs every busy month, while most replies are short. Commslayer's free plan covers 300 conversations a month with unlimited seats, and email, chat, WhatsApp and social messages land in one inbox.
Commslayer counts a conversation once your team or its agent replies, and each thread counts once a month. Comments on Instagram, Facebook and TikTok don't count. Plus 700 costs $39 a month, Plus 1.5K $99 and Scale 4.5K $299, and each conversation past a paid plan costs $0.15. You can set a spending cap in its settings.
Every conversation shows the customer's orders and products. Commslayer's AI agent can cancel and edit orders, change shipping, hold fulfillment and issue refunds. The app has been on the App Store since January 2024, and paid plans start with a 14-day free trial.
Best for: a free helpdesk with unlimited seats.
3 · Re:amaze
Re:amaze: what do 500 answered conversations cost a small team?
Two or three of you answer hundreds of messages, and a per-seat bill would grow with every hire. Re:amaze's Starter plan costs $59 a month for 500 answered conversations, whoever answers them.
Past 500, extra conversations come in packs of 100 for $15. If you'd rather pay per person, Basic is $29 per team member a month. You can manage, change and create Shopify orders from inside a conversation.
Best for: a small team answering a lot.
4 · Richpanel
Richpanel: can AI handle order changes inside limits you set?
Every other ticket asks to cancel an order, refund it or start a return. Richpanel's AI agents work through those requests on their own, and you decide the refund limit and what waits for your approval.
PRO costs $89 a month, each extra person another $89, and AI conversations from $0.20 each. Its own site prices seats and AI differently from the listing.
Richpanel says it covers up to 100% of the Gorgias contract you have left when you switch, if you qualify. Before you let Richpanel's AI agents refund on their own, read what return fraud is and how to stop it on Shopify.
Best for: order changes handled by AI inside your limits.
5 · eDesk
eDesk: can Amazon, eBay and Shopify messages share one inbox?
Questions arrive from your Shopify store and from Amazon and eBay, each in its own inbox. eDesk gathers them from your store and over 300 marketplaces and channels, and you can change a Shopify order without leaving eDesk.
eDesk's listing prices by tickets, as Gorgias does. Starter is $59 a month for 300 tickets on one store or marketplace, Growth $199 for 1,000 tickets on three, and Professional $399 for 2,000 on ten. The plan cards show no price for tickets past the limit, so ask before a sale week. eDesk's own website shows other plans, priced per agent.
Best for: selling on marketplaces too.
6 · Help Scout
Help Scout: can you refund an order without leaving the email?
A customer emails for a refund, and you copy the order number into Shopify to find it. Help Scout shows the customer's Shopify orders beside the conversation, and you can refund, cancel, edit or duplicate the most recent ones from there.
Standard costs $25 per person a month, billed yearly, after a 15-day free trial. AI Answers, its automated replies, costs $0.75 per resolved conversation.
A separate free plan covers 5 people, one inbox and 100 contacts a month. A contact is anyone your team replied to or whose question AI Answers resolved.
Best for: a small team paying per person, not per ticket.
7 · Zendesk
Zendesk: does a large support team fit a per-agent plan?
Ten of you answer every day, and a ticket bill swings with every sale week. Zendesk prices each agent instead: Suite Team is $55 per agent a month, billed yearly, after a 14-day free trial.
From the sidebar beside a ticket, you can refund or cancel a Shopify order. Some charges may come from Zendesk directly, apart from your Shopify invoice, its listing says.
Best for: a large team already trained on Zendesk.
More helpdesks
Which other helpdesks work with Shopify?
- Gladly. Its listing calls it an AI shopping assistant. Its free plan covers 100 AI interactions and one team member, then $120 per team member a month and $1.50 per AI resolution.
- Kustomer. Priced per person, from $89 a month on Enterprise and $139 on Ultimate.
- Freshdesk. It isn't on the Shopify App Store. Freshworks' own guide connects it through a custom app you create in Shopify first.
- Tidio and Willdesk. Chat apps with tickets built in, compared in the best Shopify live chat apps.
Where to start
Which helpdesk should you try first?
Count last month's tickets by type before you choose. If most are chats on your store, Shopify Inbox costs nothing. If most ask to cancel, refund or change an order, decide whether a person makes that change from the ticket or an AI agent makes it inside limits you set.

What is the best Gorgias alternative for Shopify?
It depends on the job. Shopify Inbox is free for chat on your own store. Commslayer has a free plan for 300 conversations a month with unlimited seats. Re:amaze's Starter covers 500 answered conversations for $59, Richpanel's AI agents handle order requests, eDesk adds marketplaces, Help Scout bills per person and Zendesk per agent.
Is Gorgias still on the Shopify App Store?
On November 5, 2026, Gorgias's App Store page read "This app is not currently available on the Shopify App Store" and showed no install button or reason. Gorgias's help center still describes connecting a store through the App Store, and its status page listed the Shopify connection as operational that day.
How much does Gorgias cost?
Gorgias prices by tickets, not seats. Starter is $10 a month for 50 tickets and Basic $60 for 300, then $0.40 per extra ticket; Pro is $360 for 2,000. AI Agent costs $1 per automated interaction on monthly billing and $1.50 past the number your plan includes. Each one also counts as a ticket. The trial lasts 7 days.
Can you export your tickets and macros from Gorgias?
Yes. From any ticket view, select the tickets and choose Export tickets: Gorgias emails a spreadsheet link that works for 14 days, without message text. Message text comes from an analytics export, 30 days at a time. Macros export from Settings, then Productivity, then Macros. Commslayer, Re:amaze and Richpanel can also pull your history straight from Gorgias.
Is Shopify Inbox a replacement for Gorgias?
Only if most of your support starts in your store's chat. Shopify Inbox is free on Basic and higher plans, shows a signed-in customer's orders beside the conversation, and emails your reply to a shopper who left, if they gave an address or signed in. Shopify describes it as a way to talk with customers who visit your online store.
Some tickets begin with a product a shopper couldn't find. See what fixing that is worth.
Sledge is a Shopify app for search, filters and offers, not a helpdesk. Growth Intelligence turns on when you pick a paid plan. It reads your store's orders and searches, names the fixes worth making and totals them in one dollar figure labeled “Est. potential”.
