How to run Cyber Monday on Shopify
Cyber Monday 2026 is Monday 30 November, three days after Black Friday. It is the same sale on a different store. Four days of shoppers have thinned the shelves, your store recorded everyone who looked and left without buying, and Monday's end time falls in the middle of a working day.
Friday went fine. Then the weekend happened, and by Sunday night the sale page is showing you sizes nobody wants in colours nobody picked. Monday still has to earn something, and nothing you planned in October says what.
When is Cyber Monday 2026, and what makes it different?
Cyber Monday is Monday 30 November 2026, three days after Black Friday on 27 November. Neither date moves. The Saturday and Sunday in between sell too, which is why Monday is not a fresh start.
The difference is not the date. It is that Monday runs on a store four days of shoppers have already been through. Whatever was easiest to sell is gone. The products still available on Monday may not be the products shoppers wanted most on Friday.
What has actually changed in your store since Friday?
Three things, and only one of them is visible from the dashboard.
Stock is the first. Popular sizes and colours go early, so by Monday a collection filter that looked generous on Friday hands back two products and an apology. Sort order makes it worse when near-empty products keep the position they earned on Friday.
The second is what shoppers did over the weekend. Every search with no useful result, every product viewed and left, every cart that stalled. That list shows what shoppers were interested in but did not buy. Use that information while the Cyber Monday sale is still running.
The third is time. Cyber Monday ends mid working day for most of the world rather than over a weekend, so an end time you set casually in October now decides whether the last hours of your sale are open or closed.
Which offer should carry Monday?
Not automatically the one that carried Friday. Volume moved on Friday because traffic was highest. That says less about the offer itself than it seems to.
Open your weekend sales report on Sunday evening. By Monday morning the day is already selling whatever you left in place. Look at what you still have plenty of, what margin is left in it, and what the weekend's browsers kept coming back to. You may want to focus on fewer products than you did on Friday. That could be one bundle, or one free-shipping threshold, aimed at what you can still ship.
Then check what happens when that offer meets a code somebody saved on Friday. That collision has its own page: which discounts combine, and which cancel each other.
When does the sale actually end?
Three separate settings carry an end time, and they do not have to match: the banner, the countdown, and the discount itself. On Friday a slip of a few hours gets absorbed by a weekend of traffic. On Monday there is no weekend behind it, so the hours you lose are the last ones the sale had.
Set all three times using your store's time zone, not your own time zone or the shopper's. Scheduling the banner walks through how to schedule them to come down automatically, so nobody has to remember.
What keeps Monday from being Friday's leftovers?
The page has to reorder itself as the shelves empty, and the offer has to follow what shoppers did over the weekend rather than what you planned in October.
Sledge is a Shopify app that runs filters, merchandising, bundles and promotions from one install. Its filters and sort rules read live stock, so the products down to their last size sink without you touching the collection. Set a start time and an end time on a banner or a countdown, and Sledge follows both, so nothing is still promising Monday's price on Tuesday morning. And its nine offer types combine with other discounts where Shopify's rules allow, which is what decides whether Monday's offer survives the code somebody saved on Friday.
On Pro and up, Growth Intelligence reads what your store actually recorded over the weekend and names the next offer with a dollar estimate on it. It runs weekly on Pro and daily on Accelerate and above, which is the difference between reading the weekend on Sunday night and reading it once Monday is over.
Questions, answered
When is Cyber Monday 2026?
Monday 30 November 2026. Black Friday is the Friday before it, 27 November, and the two weekend days in between belong to the same sale in most stores. Cyber Monday is the last of the four days, so whatever ends at the end of it is the thing shoppers see last.
Should Cyber Monday be a different sale from Black Friday?
Usually not a different sale, but different decisions inside it. Change which products lead the page, because four days of shoppers have already bought out the ones that led it on Friday. Change the end time too, because Monday's sale ends in the middle of a working day. Building a second event nobody has rehearsed is the expensive way to do both.
What time does Cyber Monday end on a Shopify store?
Whatever hour you set, check it in your store's own time zone rather than yours or the shopper's. This is the end time that catches people out, because it lands in the middle of a working day instead of over a weekend. Check the banner, the countdown and the discount separately.
Why does my sale page look worse on Monday than it did on Friday?
Because the best things sold. Four days of shoppers buy the popular sizes and colours first. A Best selling sort then keeps those nearly sold-out products at the top. The page is the same, the shelves behind it are not.
Is there any point discounting on Cyber Monday if Friday went well?
The weekend leaves behind a list of people who looked and did not buy, which is the clearest buying signal you will get all year. Whether that deserves another discount depends on the margin left in what is still in stock, not on how Friday went.
Sunday night decides what Monday sells.
On Pro and up, Growth Intelligence reads the weekend your store just had and names the next offer with a dollar estimate on it. From Accelerate it runs daily, so Sunday's read arrives on Sunday.
