How to add bundles and quantity breaks to the Horizon theme
Horizon's block-based editor has blocks for nearly everything, but none that sells a bundle. List a set as its own product, install Shopify's free Bundles app for fixed sets, or add Sledge for nine offer types, quantity breaks included, on product pages, in collections, in search results, and in the cart.
A bundle sells more units in the same order: two items priced as a pair, "buy 2, save 10%" tiers, a build-your-own box. Horizon is Shopify's newest default theme. Every bundle on a Horizon store arrives by one of three routes. Here is each, with its honest limits.
Option A: build a bundle as its own product
The no-app route: create a product that represents the set.
- In Shopify admin, create a new product. Call it "The Morning Kit".
- Photograph the items together, write the description, set one price below the sum of the parts.
- Track its inventory by hand, since Shopify treats the set as one more product.
- Publish it to the collections where shoppers would look for it.
For one signature set that rarely changes, this works, and stores have run it for years. The cost is zero and the product page is pure Horizon.
Where it stops: stock is the trap. Sell the set and the individual products never decrement; sell the last mug on its own and the set still looks in stock. One fixed combination per listing, so "pick any three" stays off the table, and quantity breaks do not exist here. And the offer only lives where its listing sits. Nothing shows it to the shopper browsing the mug that belongs in it.
Option B: use Shopify's free Bundles app
Shopify ships its own Bundles app, free, and it fixes Option A's worst problem.
- Install Shopify Bundles from the Shopify App Store.
- Create a bundle and pick the products and variants that go in.
- Price the set, then publish. The bundle lists as its own product on your store.
The real win is inventory: the bundle's stock tracks its components, so selling the set draws down the parts, and the last part leaving pauses the set. Nobody oversells, nobody keeps a spreadsheet.
Where it stops: fixed bundles only, a set list of products at a set price. There is no quantity-break display, so "buy 2, save 10%" tiers never reach the product page. And the bundle stays a listing rather than an offer. Nothing places it in search results, in collections, or next to the products it contains; shoppers find the set only if they walk past it.
Option C: add Sledge bundles tuned for Horizon
Sledge treats a bundle as an offer that travels, not a listing that waits. Nine types you can build today, no code, rendered in cards tuned for Horizon.
- Install Sledge from the Shopify App Store, start the 14-day free trial, and switch on the app embed.
- Create a bundle and pick a type: quantity breaks, build-your-own, free gift, BOGO, or any of the nine.
- Choose where the offer shows: product pages, collections, search results, the cart.
- Preview, then publish. Cards render Horizon-styled, so the offer reads as part of your catalog, not an ad.
Beyond Options A and B: quantity breaks live right on the product page, tiers a shopper can tap. The same offer meets shoppers in search results and filtered collections, mid-decision, not on a separate listing. And placement respects the theme: Sledge fits Horizon's product page, and recommendations you add later land after the product details.
Can't decide between "buy 2, save 10%" and a two-piece set? Run both. Sledge A/B tests bundles, with preview before anything goes live. And Growth Intelligence suggests offers from your store's own data, then measures what each one earned against real sales.

Questions, answered
Does the Horizon theme support product bundles?
Not natively. Horizon's block-based editor has no bundle block and no quantity-break display. Bundles arrive via a manually created combo product, Shopify's free Bundles app, or an app like Sledge that renders bundle offers in Horizon-styled cards.
Is Shopify's Bundles app free, and what does it cover?
Free, yes. It builds fixed bundles that list as products, with inventory synced to the components. It does not show quantity-break tiers on product pages, and it does not place offers in search results or collections.
Can I show buy 2, save 10% on a Horizon product page?
Not with the theme or Shopify's native tools. Sledge renders quantity breaks as a tiered card on the product page, tuned to Horizon's styling, so the tiers read like part of the page.
Which bundle type should I run first on my store?
Test it. Sledge A/B tests bundles, with preview before anything goes live. And Growth Intelligence suggests offers from your store's own data, then measures what each one earned against real sales.
The offer goes where shoppers go.
Install free. Pick a type, pick the pages, and the cards come out Horizon-styled. Built-in Growth Intelligence will even suggest which offer earns its spot first.
