What is BOGO?

BOGO stands for buy one, get one. A shopper buys one product and gets a second one free or at a discount, like buy one, get one 50% off. It is retail's oldest deal, and stores run it to lift order size and move stock fast.

How does a BOGO offer work?

Say you sell tees at $30 and run buy one, get one 50% off. A shopper who came for one leaves with two for $45. Order up by half, $15 in discount, a second unit off the shelf. When clearing stock beats margin, run the free version: the shopper pays $30, two tees ship.

BOGO works best on products shoppers double up on. Tees, socks, candles, anything consumable.

On Shopify stores

Shopify's built-in discounts include a Buy X Get Y type that can power a basic BOGO at checkout. What's missing is the selling: a discount nobody sees moves nothing. The offer needs a card on the product page and a nudge in the cart, and the reward has to land by itself, no code to paste. That storefront layer is what bundle apps add.

BOGO with Sledge

Sledge runs BOGO as a Buy X Get Y bundle, one of nine offer types: set the reward item, and it lands in the cart free. The offer sells where shoppers decide: product pages, collections, search results, the cart. Built-in Growth Intelligence suggests which offer to run from your store's own order patterns, estimates the monthly impact in dollars, then measures it against real sales.
